How I Stay Active While Traveling With ClassPass

When you travel as much as I do, having a traditional gym membership can get a little complicated.

I’m frequently away from home—sometimes traveling internationally—so paying for access to one gym in one location doesn’t always make sense for my lifestyle. One of the ways I’ve solved that problem is ClassPass.

Why ClassPass Works for My Travel Lifestyle

I travel frequently, and I like having the flexibility to find workouts wherever I happen to be, instead of being tied to one gym near home. Working out while traveling helps me feel more like myself on the road, and ClassPass makes it easier to find a class in the destinations I’m visiting.

Yes, I’ve Used ClassPass Internationally

ClassPass can be used internationally in participating destinations—availability varies by city and country, so it’s worth checking what’s offered where you’re headed. I even used ClassPass to take a spin class while I was traveling in Chile.

Why I Usually Prefer Classes in the U.S.

I’ve also used ClassPass while traveling domestically, including in Colorado, Georgia and Oregon. I personally prefer instructor-led classes where I can easily understand the instructor, and my class in Chile made me realize that language is something travelers should think about when booking fitness classes abroad.

This isn’t a criticism of the class—it’s simply easier for me to follow a workout when I understand all of the instructor’s cues.

VeggieTravelGirl Tip: If you’re booking a workout internationally, check the class description or contact the studio to see what language the instructor typically uses.

Why I Like It for Frequent Travel

  • Flexibility to book workout classes while traveling
  • Not being tied to one local gym back home
  • Being able to keep up a fitness routine on the road
  • Trying different workout styles
  • Finding participating studios in the destinations I’m visiting
