Kraków is one of my favorite European cities for wandering, history, architecture, and food. I spent about two weeks here, which gave me time to explore beyond the main tourist sights and experience the city at a slower pace.
Things to do
One of Kraków’s most iconic landmarks. Explore the castle grounds and take in the architecture and views over the Vistula River. It’s an easy addition while exploring central Kraków.
One of my favorite areas of Kraków. Spend time walking through the historic Jewish Quarter, exploring its streets, history, cafés, restaurants, and bars. Some of my favorite places to eat and grab drinks during my time in Kraków were in this neighborhood.

© VeggieTravelGirlTake a day trip from Kraków to the famous Wieliczka Salt Mine. The underground chambers, tunnels, sculptures, and incredible spaces carved from salt make this one of the most unique experiences near Kraków.
Day trip from KrakówLocated outside the city, not in the city center.
Visit the historic Benedictine Abbey in Tyniec, set above the Vistula River outside central Kraków. It’s a peaceful change of pace from the city and a great option if you want to see somewhere beyond Kraków’s most popular tourist attractions.
Outside the centerAn easy trip outside central Kraków.
Some of my favorite restaurants and bars in Kraków were in Kazimierz, the Jewish Quarter. It’s a great neighborhood to explore during the day and then stay for dinner and drinks.

I use an eSIM to stay connected internationally without having to swap physical SIM cards.
